Anger is often described as a secondary emotion because it protects us from uncomfortable underlying feelings like being confused, threatened, or out of control. Irritability is its low-level form, experienced as constantly being ready to be upset. When working with these topics, we will focus on helping you express your feelings in a healthy way that addresses your emotional and physical needs, and we’ll explore steps you can take to take charge of your anger.

Please note that if your anger is actively endangering or intentionally intimidating those around you, I may not be the right therapist for you and will be referring you to a specialist.
