I specialize in working with stress management, anxiety and depression, anger and irritability, and life transitions. Through a goal-oriented and client-driven approach, we can work together to make you feel better all around.
Stress Management2022-01-21T20:00:24+00:00

Stress is a fact of life. It can be insidious, affecting all areas of our lives – our physical and mental health, our productivity and decision-making, and our relationships. Getting expert help when stress becomes overwhelming can have a powerful impact on your quality of life. Even small changes in stress-management can have an outsized impact, and these changes are often pretty straightforward. Stress is not all bad; in fact, it often helps us create, accomplish, and excel. Therapy can help you learn to handle stress in an effective way.

Anxiety and Depression2022-01-21T19:59:35+00:00

Anxiety and depression don’t always feel like you’d think, and they are two of the most common mental health issues clients would like to address in therapy. Whether anxiety and depression have been part of your life since before you can remember or have come on suddenly, we will take time to really understand both the nature of what is happening and steps to help you feel better about it. My philosophy is based on the idea that you already have the strength to deal with these concerns. We will identify your strengths and aptitudes together, and help you revisit how you have effectively solved problems in the past to create helpful and meaningful change in your life.

Anger and Irritability2022-01-21T19:58:57+00:00

Anger is often described as a secondary emotion because it protects us from uncomfortable underlying feelings like being confused, threatened, or out of control. Irritability is its low-level form, experienced as constantly being ready to be upset. When working with these topics, we will focus on helping you express your feelings in a healthy way that addresses your emotional and physical needs, and we’ll explore steps you can take to take charge of your anger.

Please note that if your anger is actively endangering or intentionally intimidating those around you, I may not be the right therapist for you and will be referring you to a specialist.

Major Life Transitions2022-01-21T20:00:00+00:00

Changes, good or bad, can be challenging to navigate. Whether you’re dealing with a change in your personal life, profession, or health, or grieving a loss, know that adjusting requires a lot from you. Together we can define your goals for this season of your life and put together a plan for action. Working on these things in a safe, nonjudgemental space where you can get immediate feedback alleviates the stress and struggle that come from doing it all on your own.
